Bountiful Boqueria

La Boqueria
Rambla, 91, 08002 Barcelona
With more than 250 vendors and a colorful history stretching back centuries, La Boqueria is the unrivaled grande dame of Barcelona’es markets. Arrive early to avoid the crush of the crowds and make sure to check out El Quim de la Boqueria (stall 584), a sweet little tapas bar where the dishes are all crafted from the market’s bounty, and Cansaladeria Can Vila (stall 162), an incredible stall in the northwest corner that’s laden with prized Ibérico hams and other divine cured meats.

Go Fish

La Barceloneta
C/ de l’Escar, 22 Moll dels Pescadors – (Port Vell), 08039 Barcelona
Though its star has been rising in recent years, La Barceloneta, the sandy spit of land running along Barcelona’s shoreline that was once the old fisherman’s quarter, still feels like a discovery. Spend a morning strolling along the sand before ducking into one of the area’s tempting restaurants for seafood-laden lunch. La Guingueta de Barceloneta is a hip new beachside spot featuring creative tapas (and homemade ice cream!). Or, if you’re feeling a bit more splurgy, try Suquet de l’Admirall, where the pica pica marinera (mixed seafood plate) is legendary, and the owners studied under Ferran Adrià at El Bulli.

Explore these epicurean delights on the following Windstar voyages:
