Volunteers for Earth day

Windstar’s Seattle Headquarters Celebrate Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, Windstar Cruises participated in Golden Gardens Park restoration efforts, hosted by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). There were over 50 volunteers present, including other Seattle based cruise lines in partnership with volunteer organizers from Seattle Works, representatives from the Port of Seattle and staff from Seattle Parks and Recreation.

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn proclaimed April 23, 2013 “Cruise Industry Employee Volunteer Recognition Day.”  The proclamation from the Mayor’s Office noted the cruise industry’s strong ties to the Pacific Northwest and its economic contributions to the state of Washington.

Windstar’s team members were not only happy to help the restoration of the park’s shoreline, dunes and wetland, they also had a great time doing it!
