Star Seeker Update: Here’s How the New Ship Will Foster Relaxation

When Star Seeker debuts in December, it will reflect Windstar’s ongoing commitment to wellness while traveling.

Overall, says Lieven Van Daele, Windstar’s director of guest experience, “wellness and relaxation are both important pillars for Windstar and it’s our philosophy that achieving these takes many forms.”

First, of course, is the emphasis on creating a serene spa, he tells us, noting there will be two private massage rooms, a full-service salon for both hair and beauty treatments, a soothing relaxation area and a dry sauna.

In anticipation of the new Star Seeker, Windstar has already rolled out a new spa menu, focusing on the regions of the world in which its ships sail (these are already part of the spas of the existing fleet). These include Middle Eastern Lime and Salt Scrub, Japanese Shiatsu, and massages incorporating materials such as Tahitian stone and South Pacific bamboo. Also available are signature treatments like the “detoxifying seaweed massage” and “skin renewal facial.”

Star Seeker’s all-new spa, Van Daele notes, “offers its own peaceful ambience and yet is consistent with the spas onboard all of our other ships.”

Beyond Star Seeker’s dedicated health and wellness facility, Van Daele points out that other areas of the ship that are designed for relaxation, such as the pool deck with jacuzzi just steps from the World Spa by Windstar, and Windstar’s signature whirlpool on the bow, both of which are popular on the other Star Class ships.

And he reveals that Star Seeker will, uniquely, have dedicated lounge space on the aft section of Decks 5 and 6, facing the uber-relaxing wake when the ship churns through the sea. “It’s meant to be a quiet space with no music, no bar. It’s just an amazing place to get away from it all.”
