Monaco Grand Prix cruise

Monaco’s Grand Prix: Your Seat is Reserved

Even when your favorite means of transportation is a sleek sailing ship under full mast (and ours is!), few people fail to thrill to the sound of Formula One engines as they wait for the flag to drop, signaling the start of Monaco’s fabled Grand Prix.

The first winner was a sleek Bugatti, which completed the sinuous course on April 14, 1929, in just under four hours at a breathtaking average speed of 50 miles an hour.  Last spring, at the 70th running of the Monaco Grand Prix, racing legend Mark Weber brought his Formula One racer across the finish line in one hour, 46 minutes and a few seconds.  His average speed was 95.5 miles an hour.

What’s going to happen in 2013?  Join us and see for yourself.

You can watch the 71st running of the most prestigious race in motorsports from a preferred grandstand seat overlooking the gorgeous Monaco harbor when you add “Grand Prix with Windstar” to your May 21, 2013 Yachting the Riviera yacht vacation.  Our exclusive Grand Prix package is a VIP experience from start to finish.  Join fellow Formula One enthusiasts for an exclusive welcome cocktail reception and private Grand Prix dinner onboard Wind Surf in Cannes on Friday evening.  On Saturday morning, May 26th, stand on deck as we sail into Monaco’s exclusive harbor.  After breakfast on board, we’ll escort you to your seats in the Grand Stand, K Section, for the exciting time trials.  You’ll end this spectacular day with dinner at the celebrated Café de Paris and a gala evening in Monaco’s Grand Casino.

Be sure to get at least a little rest because Sunday’s excitement is almost unbearable.  After a delicious brunch on board, return to the grandstand’s Section K to witness the Formula One event of the year.  Your seat overlooks the famous Tabac Corner, one of the most challenging sections of the race.  Tabac is renowned as the corner in which the world’s best drivers must exhibit absolute faith in their cars.

This is an experience you’ll treasure forever.  Space is limited, so be sure to make your plans before the checkered flag falls and all the seats are gone.  You really don’t want to miss this one.  For full details and rates, please visit our website, call 800-258-7245, or contact your travel professional.

I sailed on the WindSurf in February and it was the experience of a lifetime. If you want to cruise and relax, there is no better ship than the WindSurf. My wife works in the travel industry and we recently went on the Oasis of the Seas. I MUCH prefer the WindSurf and I can’t wait to get back.
