We are excited to announce the appointment of Captain James Griffiths to a new position as Expedition Captain for the award-winning small ship cruise line. In this new capacity, Griffiths is overseeing the holistic creation, development and implementation of the line’s newly-announced Signature Expeditions program. Griffiths joined Windstar in 2014 as Captain of the MSY Wind Spirit, prior to that he worked for many years in the Expedition industry operating expedition ships at senior management levels in some of the most remote areas of the world.
“My background is in expeditions, so I am really pleased to help develop Windstar Signature Expeditions Program. We will be doing more scenic and whildlife views than any big ship. We will be stopping the ship in remote locations, launching our expedition equipment, and our expedition staff will take you off the ship to get up close and personal to the whildlife, to the ice, to the glaciers. It’s going to be fantastic!”

“We are fortunate to have Captain Griffiths amongst our ranks and are thrilled to place him in this role leading the creation and development of our brand new Signature Expeditions program. Captain Griffiths’ experience with vessels of prestige and breadth of knowledge of the expedition, nautical and maritime industries is most impressive.
